Dr. Hervé Damas:
At the moment, some of the guidelines that they are saying are, if you have these mild symptoms, if it's just a headache, if it's general malaise, or something like that, isolate yourself. Keep yourself away from others as much as possible for the first 14 days.

Now, if you're starting to spike a fever, we're considering taking that to another level. Because a fever is actually a demonstration of a serious infection. You don't spike fevers for something that's mild. So now we're going to the next level of things. Or really strong fatigue (feeling run over by an elephant). That's the time to head out and seek some help right away. As soon as that stuff starts, you don't want to delay the time to treatment. In medicine, we're really concerned about, from the time of the insult to the body and the time that we can get treated. That saves lives.

Karen: When you have the mild things, and you don't have a fever, and you don't have the strong malaise, are there home remedies that people can do to give themselves some comfort? Are there things that actually help?
Dr. HD: First, stop the self-destructive behavior. If you are a heavy smoker or drinker, you need to cut that out immediately. Cigarette smoking, nicotine, e-vaping (the electronic cigarettes) are really rough on your respiratory tract. And we know that this thing is a respiratory infection. What you get is this SARS-like symptom, which is what we call ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome), and basically your lungs shut down. If you're filling your lungs up with a bunch of toxins everyday and tars from nicotine and tobacco, it's not a good look for you. Cut that behavior out.
The same thing with alcohol. Alcohol in moderation, a glass of wine, here and there is okay for you but it's not a good idea to get hammered regularly.
You have to start curtailing some of your bad habits. The greasy foods and snacks are unhealthy behavior and none of those are going to contribute to your ability to ward off or fight an infection. So, right now is the time for you to start really dedicating yourself to living a healthier lifestyle.
Start exercising if you can (in place at home or use the gym in your facility if there is one). There are a lot of online classes that are going on. Exercise will boost your immune system.
Look at some of the homeopathic things that people are talking about. Garlic is known to boost the immune system.

Vitamin C is used as a co-enzyme in many immunological processes. Approximately 500 - 1000mg daily is recommended. No more than 2000mg is suggested, as this may cause unwanted side effects like cramps, vomiting, diarrhea and headache.
