What makes you black?
Karen: What makes me black is that there's such a thing as white. My blackness is only a juxtaposition of whiteness. There was no such thing as blackness before there was whiteness. Which was a made up construct to put people who weren't white into a particular category to justify a system of slavery.

The hardest people, sometimes, to get counseling, is people of faith, because a lot of people still think that a prayer can get rid of certain disorders. I do believe in the power of prayer but God puts people in your life for a reason, to be skilled and to be licensed to help you through situations.
