One of my favorite things to do during the holiday season, is to watch all the classic animated films with my family. ("A Charlie Brown Christmas", Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer", etc.) "Prep & Landing" is one of the newer shows (2009) and is fantastic. It's about an elf named Wayne that is the other half of the high-tech unit called "Prep & Landing". Each unit is responisble for ensuring that homes around the world are prepared for Santa's visit. As I was watching it again this year, I was thinking about how much this story relates to my real life. My husband and I are a "Prep & Landing" unit. It's our job to make sure that we prepare our children for life so that when they are on their own, they will be able to land safely on their own two feet.
I also thought about the film from a spiritual aspect. My husband and I have prepared our children with a solid spiritual foundation so that they will be able to receive all the blessings that God has prepared for them. Deep! Isn't it?!
Speaking of prepared... as usual, I am not prepared for the holidays. I haven't done any shopping (not one single gift at all) and the house is a mess. I need a "Prep & Landing" unit for that! Wow! Could this be the year that I don't buy anything for anybody? Hmm! Let them enjoy the gift of just being in my presence. Sounds good to me! Can't you picture their faces as they read this right now.
Okay everyone, Stay Safe, Stay Warm and Stay Silly.
